Hey guys, February was a month filled with additions and changes, among them is Resistance, the new battle mechanic. Which basically addresses the Heavy Blow saturation that has occurred since the first versions of Hero Corruption:
Enemies with the Resistance mechanic have a certain amount of "Resistance Points", this amount can vary from 1 to 10 and for each point of resistance, the damage received by the hero's attacks is reduced by 5%. This means that if a hero with 100 raw damage attacks an enemy with 5 resistance points, the final damage inflicted on the enemy will be 75.
You can manipulate the amount of resistance points an enemy has by choosing your hero's action: "Wait" increase resistance by +1, while using a "Normal Attack" or "Heavy Blow" decreases resistance by -1.
By decreasing resistance to 0, the enemy will enter Resistance Break mode and the Hero will gain the Direct Hit buff, increasing it's total damage by +50% for three turns. After that, the enemy's resistance is reset and the hero's buff is removed.
This new mechanic should give a little more diversity to encounters and player decisions, AGI stat will probably become a little more valuable as a side-effect too, but that shouldn't be a problem. For now, Resistance is exclusive to the new Shemale enemy, Celeste. It should be implemented on other girls if it is well received by you guys, so be sure to share your thoughts about it.
On another note, the new bad trait Princesses Toy makes use of the Enemy Types that I had mentioned in a previous Dev Log, currently the trait interacts with all girls with the "Petite" tag, such as Bonnie and April. In the future it will be possible to check the enemy's type on their Profile Screen, but for now the only indication that the trait is active is through the new "Modifiers:" line at the Addiction Check Screen.
Another implementation of a previously mentioned addition is the new "Tired" debuff, which will be applied to the hero when his Stamina drops below 20 after an attack. This new debuff is persistent and can only be removed by choosing the "Rest" option at base.
New content for already implemented mechanics has also been added, including a new "Fairy Event"; A new common enemy; The previously mentioned, Celeste; New quests; Another buff and the option to refine accessories with the Jewel material
The vast majority of these additions are already included in the latest Live version and should be available on v0.85 which will be published on March 4th, Monday.
